CCTV camera installation

Cameras are the easy part. Usable footage - correct angles, night performance and enough retention to still have the clip when someone finally goes looking - is the part that gets skipped.

What we install

We work with branded hardware from Hikvision and Panasonic across the three form factors that cover almost every real requirement.

  • Dome cameras - discreet, vandal-resistant, and the default for lobbies, corridors, shop floors and indoor areas.
  • Bullet cameras - directional and visible, used for perimeters, boundary walls, gates and driveways where the camera being obvious is itself a deterrent.
  • PTZ cameras - pan, tilt and zoom for large open areas such as compounds, yards and plant perimeters where one operator-controlled camera replaces several fixed ones.
  • Recording and storage - DVR or NVR sized to the retention period you actually need, not to the cheapest disk that fits the quote.

How we specify a system

The survey decides the design. We walk the site and answer four questions before quoting anything.

  • What must be identifiable? Recognising that a person was there needs a very different camera position from identifying who they were or reading a number plate. These are three different specifications and they cost differently.
  • What are the light conditions at the worst hour? A position that works at noon may be useless at dusk against backlight. We check the difficult hour, not the convenient one.
  • How far back do you need to look? Retention is a storage and resolution trade-off. We size it deliberately and state the number of days in the quote.
  • Who will maintain it? A camera that drifts out of focus or gets coated in dust is offline in every way that matters. We mount for serviceability.

The trade-off nobody explains

Higher resolution is not automatically better. Every step up in resolution consumes more storage, which shortens how many days of footage you keep on the same disk. On a large share of installs the correct answer is fewer, better-placed cameras with longer retention. We will show you that trade-off explicitly and let you choose - rather than quietly picking the option that raises the invoice.

Where we install

Global Eye Security Systems is based in Dombivli East and installs across Dombivli, Kalyan, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Taloja MIDC, Mahape. Being local is not a marketing line here: when a system needs a service visit, the difference between a same-week fix and a month of chasing is whether the engineer is twenty minutes away.

Questions

CCTV Camera Systems: common questions

DVR or NVR - which do I need?

DVR systems use coaxial cabling and analogue cameras; NVR systems use network cabling and IP cameras. For a new install with no existing cabling, IP over network cable is usually the better long-term choice for image quality and flexibility. If you already have coax running through a finished building, upgrading the cameras on the existing cable can be far cheaper than rewiring. We check what is already in the walls before recommending either.

How many days of footage will I keep?

That is a design decision driven by camera count, resolution, frame rate and disk size, and we state it in the quote as a number of days rather than leaving it implied. Homes commonly land at 15 to 30 days; societies and factories usually need longer because incidents surface weeks late.

Can I view the cameras remotely?

Yes, on Android and iPhone, with live view and playback. We configure it on your device at handover and show you how to export a clip, because the moment you need footage is the worst moment to learn the app.

Do cameras work in the dark?

Cameras we specify have infrared night capability, but infrared has a real range limit and reflects badly off nearby walls and glass. Effective night coverage depends as much on placement and site lighting as on the camera. We assess the site after dark where night performance is critical.
