Biometric attendance systems

Attendance fraud is not usually theft anyone would name as theft. It is a few minutes a day, multiplied by headcount, paid out every month without anyone deciding to.

Installed for: Factories & Industrial Plants

What the system does

Biometric attendance ties a punch to a person rather than to a card that can be handed over.

  • Fingerprint capture - the standard for most industrial floors, fast at shift change and inexpensive per user.
  • Face recognition - useful where hands are gloved, wet or contaminated, or where contactless capture is preferred.
  • Shift and roster handling - configured to your actual shift patterns rather than a single 9-to-5 assumption.
  • Payroll export - attendance data exported in a format your payroll software can consume.

The number that justifies it

The business case is not the hardware cost, it is the wage leakage. Work out your average hourly cost, multiply by the minutes per person per day you believe are being claimed and not worked, then multiply by headcount and working days. On most factory floors that annual figure exceeds the entire system cost by a wide margin. We would rather you did that calculation with your own numbers than take a vendor percentage on faith - so ask us and we will do it with you at the survey, using your headcount and your wage rates.

Practical constraints on a factory floor

Fingerprint readers struggle with wet, chemically-contaminated or heavily calloused hands, which is common in exactly the environments that most need attendance control. Reader placement also has to survive shift change: a single unit at one gate creates a queue of 200 people at 8am. We plan reader count and position against your actual shift-change volume, and will recommend face capture over fingerprint where the floor conditions warrant it.

Where we install

Global Eye Security Systems is based in Dombivli East and installs across Dombivli, Kalyan, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Taloja MIDC, Mahape. Being local is not a marketing line here: when a system needs a service visit, the difference between a same-week fix and a month of chasing is whether the engineer is twenty minutes away.

Questions

Biometric Attendance: common questions

Does it integrate with our payroll software?

Attendance data is exported for payroll consumption, but the exact integration depends on which payroll package you run. We confirm the required export format against your system during the survey rather than promising compatibility in advance - this is a common source of post-install disappointment and it is avoidable by checking first.

What if a worker's fingerprint will not read?

This is normal in industrial environments and needs a designed fallback, not an argument at the gate. Options include face capture, a card credential for affected individuals, or a supervisor-authorised manual entry that is itself logged. We set the fallback up at installation so it is a procedure rather than an improvisation.

Can it handle multiple shifts and overtime?

Yes. The system is configured to your shift patterns, including night shifts crossing midnight and overtime rules. We need your actual roster structure at survey stage, because a system configured to generic shifts produces data that payroll then has to correct by hand, which defeats the purpose.

Is biometric data stored securely?

Systems typically store a mathematical template derived from the fingerprint rather than an image of it, so the original cannot be reconstructed from the device. You should still tell your workforce what is captured and why - it is both good practice and the thing that prevents resistance at rollout.
